Tripod an angel I have been seeing in my colony, since she was a cute playful kitten. Sometimes trying to play hide-n-seek with the shadows and sometimes trying to dangle over branches that were lighter than her, she was always the mischievous and playful one. As she grew older, I began feeding her daily along with the other cats in my colony and she slowly she became comfortable to my presence, yet maintained a one arm distance.
On an awful day, most probably to a negligent driver, she lost one of her front legs. Thanks to some contacts and friends, I was able to rush her to the hospital. She spent nearly two months recovering from her amputation and stitches. While those months very hectic for me, they were equally rewarding and I felt happy inside. Holding her in your hands like a baby and watching her fall asleep everyday or looking into her eyes, which only said that you mean't the world to them - is a feeling only a true animal lover would understand.
After she recovered completely, I brought her back and let her free in the colony. She adjusted back into her routine life almost instantly and soon began running about and climbing trees like any other cat. I know... I could have brought her home and cared for her, but I did not want to cage her in my one room apartment the whole day, while I was at work. To me, that would have killed her spirit within. Plus, I had a fear as to how she would adjust with my cat Sizzler in that tiny little room.
Today, as I get ready for work, I can already hear her longing meows, sensing that I about to come down anytime. And I am sure, that when I'm back in the evening, she'll be there to greet me, like she does everyday.
Tripod is adorable, I came to the post thinking it is about photography. I was wrong as well right at the same time... :)
